56 shots in 67 games and 7 goals. The 24-goal season in Nashville four years ago is now clearly the outlier of a career: he has 30 goals in the four seasons since, combined.
The Finesse Game
Very little. The hands do not function at NHL speed with the puck on his stick, and 6 assists in 67 games is not a sample problem.
What offence there is comes from being at the net front when something arrives. 12.5 per cent shooting on 56 attempts is a decent rate on a tiny volume, and it will not scale.
The Physical Game
6-2 and 221, and this is the job and the reason four clubs have paid for it. He hits as hard as anybody in the league, he fights, and he is genuinely difficult to play against below the goal line.
89 penalty minutes in 67 games. On a club that needs its penalty kill to improve, that is a direct cost, and it comes with the player rather than as an accident.
