54 per cent of his shots came from inside 20 feet at a median of 18, which has been the profile of his whole career. 26 games is the number, and it followed a season of 27.
The Finesse Game
Limited and used precisely. He is a net-front and inside-lane scorer with a quick release in traffic and no rush game at all — 70 shots in 26 games is a high rate and it comes entirely from being in the right place.
The playmaking is functional. He has scored 20 or more four times by doing exactly one thing well, which is arriving where it hurts.
The Physical Game
6-2 and 204, and among the more relentlessly physical forwards in the league. He hits, he blocks shots, he goes to the paint, and he has never adjusted the temperature.
The body has now given way twice in two seasons — 26 games and 27 the year before — and at 32 that is the whole question. A career built on being hit is a career with a fixed length.
The Intangibles
The captain, thirteen seasons in one organisation, and the man who spoke for the club in the worst month of its history.
Whatever a scouting report can measure, it does not measure that. What it can say is that a 32-year-old power forward who has played 53 games in two years should be planned around rather than counted on.
