Forty-two point six per cent of the expected goals, sixth percentile, and 40 per cent of the shot attempts — the first percentile in the league — with the chances 37.9 to 51.1 against across 1,122 minutes.

That is a thirteen-goal deficit in chances alone, in the largest sample of any figure on this page, on a good Toronto team.

He is 27 and joins a Philadelphia club that finished third in the league in even-strength expected goals against. That structure has carried worse; this is the sternest test of it.
