This Season So Far
The 2025-26 season has not started. The empty row above is his, and both it and this paragraph fill in on their own from the morning after he first plays: what he has done, what it is worth against his own last season, and the run he is on when the two disagree.
Last Season
9 goals and 15 assists in 80 games for 24 points, plus-12, on 15:17 a night with a shorthanded goal.
50.7 per cent at five-on-five, the 60th percentile, in the hardest forward minutes on the roster after Barkov’s. 50 per cent of his shots came from inside 20 feet at a median of 20.
The Finesse Game
Limited and precisely directed. 87 shots in 80 games and 9 goals; there is no finishing and no creation, and 15 assists is what a checking winger produces.
Everything about the offensive game is a byproduct of the defensive one — he arrives at loose pucks in the offensive zone because he wins them back in the neutral zone.
The Physical Game
6-3 and 191, and he plays a genuinely hard, relentless forechecking game. He wins pucks on the wall against defencemen, blocks shots, and is trusted in every defensive situation.
28 penalty minutes over 80 games is disciplined for the style. The durability has been excellent.
The Intangibles
A second-round pick, six seasons in one organisation, and two Cups from a role nobody outside the building notices.
At 27 the projection is unchanged: 25 points and the hardest minutes on the club. With Barkov out he takes on more of them.

The eye and the numbers
HindsightThe two rank him within 15 points of one another. It was written for a back edition, with the seasons that followed already known. Neither the agreement nor the gap says anything about the eye, and this report is excluded from the club-level comparison for the same reason.
Both bars are percentiles among the 357 skaters in this edition with a report and enough ice time. The report bar ranks the mean of the grades above — 77 on their own scale — against every other report's mean. The numbers bar ranks his share of expected goals. A gap is a disagreement about where he belongs, not two scales talking past each other.
Usual linemates
2024-25 · 981 minutes at five-on-five

Share of his five-on-five ice time spent alongside each player, measured from shift charts. Special teams are excluded: a power-play unit is not a line.
Why the numbers land there
Five-on-five, 2024-25
- The club
- FLA took 54.0% of the expected goals as a club. His own share is 50.7% — 3.3 below the club he did it on.
- The role
- Second line, 981 minutes at five-on-five — 58th percentile in ice time.
With and without
| Teammate | Together | Him apart | Mate apart |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anton Lundell | 49.8% | 52.7% | 56.6% |
| Gustav Forsling | 50.0% | 51.2% | 54.4% |
| Niko Mikkola | 53.7% | 49.2% | 54.9% |
49.8% together, 52.7% for him apart and 56.6% for Lundell apart. Lundell was better away from him while his own share held, which is a mark against him more than for him.
Expected-goal share while both were on the ice, and for each man in the minutes he played without the other. Apart is the pair subtracted from his own totals. It does not settle who was carrying whom — apart from each other, both were still playing with somebody — but it does say whether the share travelled when the pairing broke up.
