Last Season
Five goals and 21 points in 70 games, minus-six, on fifteen minutes a night. Twenty-one points is a normal season for him and the goals are down even on that.
The Finesse Game
Limited and always has been. A hundred and twenty-six goals in 845 games. He scores from the net front, does not carry the puck, and the offence arrives from forechecking rather than from anything he creates.
Seventy-one shots across a full season is a very low volume, and reflects a player whose job is entirely about what happens in the other end of the rink.
The Physical Game
Six-five and 210, and this is the whole value. He forechecks hard, wins pucks on the wall, and is genuinely difficult to play against. He takes the defensive-zone draws against top lines, kills penalties, and does the unrewarded work that lets the scoring lines start in the offensive zone.
He plays a punishing style and has missed time in most recent seasons.
The Intangibles
The captain of a club with two hundred-point-adjacent forwards, which tells you what the room values. He is respected around the league in a way that does not show up in any statistic.
He is thirty-three with a body that has taken a great deal. The role will outlast the production; the question is how long the body lasts.
