Nine power-play goals, and a hundred and seventy-five pounds.

Last Season
Twelve goals and 20 assists in 80 games — 32 points, minus-14, at 13:38 a night with nine power-play goals. His five-on-five work was done in Tampa.
The Finesse Game
A shooter’s shooter with a quick, disguised release. A hundred and ninety-nine unblocked attempts, twelve goals, median 28 feet with only 29 per cent from inside twenty.
That is a lot of shooting from the outside, and nine of his twelve goals came on the power play — which says where the ice is manufactured for him and where it is not.
A hundred and eighty-four goals in 704 career games is a real career.
The Physical Game
Six foot even and 175 pounds, which is very light. Sixteen penalty minutes in 80 games. He does not go near the interior and cannot hold a puck against pressure.
The Intangibles
Fifty point three per cent of the expected goals, 56th percentile, in 839 minutes on a strong Tampa club — a respectable third-line number.
He is 31 and joins a Rangers roster that finished seventh on the power play and 29th at generating even-strength offence. He will help the first thing and is unlikely to touch the second.
That is a fair description of the entire New York off-season: more men who score on the power play, on a club whose problem is five-on-five.
