57.8 per cent at five-on-five, the 97th percentile. His on-ice goals were 48-40 against an expected 52-38, so the line was outscored relative to the chances by a wide margin despite being the club’s most dominant.
The Finesse Game
The most naturally skilled forward on the roster. The release is quick and disguised, he can beat a defenceman one-on-one from a standing start, and 244 shots is the volume of a man who backs himself.
The distances are the caution — 31 per cent from beyond 40 feet, only a quarter from inside 20 — so a 14.3 per cent rate is doing a lot of work. 14 of his 35 goals came on the power play, which is the number to hold lightly.
The Physical Game
6 feet and 205, and he does not play to it. He does not forecheck with weight, avoids the wall, and gives up possession rather than absorbing contact.

The Intangibles
