A fifteen-year veteran with a Cup, still useful in a middle-six role at thirty-four.

Last Season
Eleven goals and 26 points in 50 games, plus-five, on sixteen minutes a night. Prorated that is a forty-point pace, which is respectable and well down on his best years.
The Finesse Game
The hands and the reading are what remain. He plays a smart possession game — protects pucks below the goal line, finds the seam pass, and does not turn it over. Two hundred and thirty-three career goals is a genuine scoring record for a player nobody would call a sniper.
Eighty-two shots in fifty games is a decent rate; the finishing has slipped rather than the volume.
The Physical Game
Five-ten and 185, and he plays heavier — he goes to the net, works the corners, and takes the punishment. That style has cost him: he has missed significant time in most seasons of his career.
The Intangibles
A Stanley Cup, a long career of being the responsible forward on skill lines, and a reputation as one of the more respected players in the sport.
At thirty-four, availability is the whole question. When he plays he improves a line; he has not played eighty games in a long time.
