44.4 per cent at five-on-five, the 12th percentile — the worst figure among the club’s forwards. His on-ice goals were 34-35 against an expected 32-40, so the goaltending rescued a season in which he was thoroughly outchanced.
The Finesse Game
Modest. 98 shots in 76 games is low volume and 11 goals from them is ordinary, and 48 per cent of the attempts came from inside 20 feet so the locations are not the problem.
21 assists is a fair return. He is a middle-six forward whose value was always supposed to be in the defensive half, and last season that half did not work.
