He had 65 points in 77 games the season before, so this is a real drop in rate and not only in games played.
55.4 per cent of the expected goals at five-on-five over 850 minutes, the 88th percentile. His ice went 37-31 against an expectation of 35.61-28.72, which is roughly where it should have been — a rarity in this chapter.
The Finesse Game

He passes up the shot a scorer takes — 276 assists against 130 goals in 594 games, and 25 against 12 in this season. That has been the shape of him since Chicago drafted him 18th overall in 2012, and it is why the points drop matters: a playmaker’s production depends on who is finishing, and Carolina finished 31st in the league at doing it.
