Columbus Blue Jackets Center #21
Four hundred and five games, and the fifteenth percentile in both columns.

Last Season
Four goals and eight assists in 68 games — 12 points, minus-two, at 12:23 a night with four penalty minutes.
The Finesse Game
Thin and consistent about it. Sixty-eight unblocked attempts, four goals, median 26 feet with 37 per cent inside twenty. Ninety-six points in 405 career games.
He is a defensive centre who takes faceoffs and kills penalties, and the offence has never been part of the proposition.
The Physical Game
Six foot one, 192, and four penalty minutes in 68 games, which is either exceptional discipline or a player who is never in anything. Here it is closer to the second: he defends with his stick and does not initiate.
The Intangibles
The worst forward numbers on the roster: 45.3 per cent of the expected goals, 15th percentile, and 45.6 per cent of the shot attempts, also 15th, across 727 minutes.
Columbus finished thirtieth on the penalty kill. Lundestrom is one of the men killing them.
He is 26, a first-round pick in 2018, and 405 games into a career as a fourth-line centre. The role is real and somebody has to do it; the numbers say it is not being done well.
