Eleven goals of scoring that did not arrive and two more conceded than the chances called for. The minus-14 is the worst among forwards on this roster and a good deal of it is not his.

Twenty-three points is a fourth-line total and 81 games is a real endorsement. The club has almost nothing behind its top six and he is the most likely of the young forwards to become part of it.
