49.3 per cent at five-on-five, the 43rd percentile, which is the lowest figure among Los Angeles’s top-nine forwards: he plays with Kopitar against the other club’s best line. His on-ice goals were 33-24 against an expected 41-42, so the results were considerably better than the chances.
The Finesse Game
The speed is elite and the shot is genuinely good — a heavy, quick release he can get away in stride, which is the specific combination that makes a rush scorer.
