There is no playmaking and no puck-carrying. He is a net-front player and everything he produces comes from within 20 feet.
The Physical Game
6-8 and 235, the largest forward in the league, and he is difficult to move from anywhere he decides to stand. He hits, he wins pucks below the goal line by weight, and he changes what a defenceman is willing to do in his own corner.
29 penalty minutes in 31 games is a high rate. The skating is the limitation and it is a real one — he cannot keep up with a fast transition game, which is why the chance share sits in the 9th percentile.
The Intangibles
Undrafted, four years in the Czech league, three in the American League, and an NHL job at 24 built on being enormous.
The projection is a fourth-line net-front forward who scores 10 goals. Whether a club can afford the shifts where the puck goes the other way is the question the 244 minutes did not answer.
