142 shots in ten and a half minutes a night is a remarkable rate — more than Charlie McAvoy took in 50 games — and 9 goals from them is 6.3 per cent. He shoots constantly and converts rarely.
The Finesse Game
The volume is the whole offensive game. He fires from everywhere and the release is ordinary, which is why the conversion rate sits where it does; there is no deception and very little playmaking.
What that volume buys is possession time in the offensive zone, which for a fourth line is a genuine contribution even when nothing goes in.
The Physical Game
6 feet and 195, and he forechecks with real speed and finishes his checks. He is among the more irritating fourth-line forwards in the league to play against and he is willing to answer for it.
63 penalty minutes in 77 games is a high rate for a bottom-six forward, and on a club with a middling penalty kill it is a cost as well as a contribution.

Undrafted, four organisations, and an NHL job at 29 built entirely on pace and willingness.
The projection is exactly what he is: a fourth-line winger who forechecks, shoots and irritates. Boston signed him to make a bottom six harder to play against and that is what will arrive.
