The Finesse Game
The reads are ahead of the tools, which is the usual shape for a Finnish winger arriving at twenty-one. He finds the open man and he is rarely in the wrong place without the puck.
The shot chart is the problem. Seventy-one unblocked attempts from a median of 35 feet, with only 21 per cent from inside twenty and 34 per cent from beyond forty — that is a young player shooting from where he is allowed to rather than from where goals come from, and two goals is what that returns.
Six assists in 33 games is the encouraging half.
The Physical Game

He does not avoid the wall and does not yet win on it. There is room on the frame and two summers will tell.
