93 shots at 7.5 per cent. It is the second-best point total of his career and it came on a club that finished first in its conference, in a role he had not previously been given.
The Finesse Game
The passing has quietly become the better half. 20 assists on a third line is a real number and 57 assists against 43 goals over 305 career games is not the split anybody projected for a junior scorer.
The shot has gone. He scored 20 goals in Chicago three seasons ago and 12 in the two years since, on similar volume. 7 goals at 7.5 per cent is a poor conversion rate and it is now the third consecutive season of one.
The Physical Game
6-2 and 201 and he is a willing rather than a punishing forward. He will forecheck, he will take the body, and he does not finish checks in a way anybody remembers.
18 penalty minutes in 80 games says he is disciplined and it also says he is not engaged in the parts of the game that produce them. He is neither heavy nor soft and he plays a straight-line, positionally sound wing.

A career minus-53 was earned mostly in Chicago on very bad clubs and should not be read as a defensive verdict. He is a thirteenth forward who can play up when somebody is hurt, signed cheaply for exactly that, and the club needed three of him.
