The Physical Game
6-3, 209, and technically excellent — he was, for several years, the most gifted goaltender in the league by reputation and the most poorly supported in practice.
The style is compact and positional. He does not fight pucks, he does not over-commit, and the rebound control is good. What has faded is the athletic recovery: the second save on a broken play is not what it was 5 years ago.
The Mental Game
A decade in Anaheim behind teams that conceded more than almost anyone, without ever visibly giving up on it. That is the qualification he brings.
