Six goals and ten points in 37 games on eleven and a half minutes a night, with zero penalty minutes across the whole season. Across 52 career games he has eleven points.
The Finesse Game
The speed and the release are the tools that made him a first-round pick. He is quick through the neutral zone, he shoots without needing to set his feet, and six goals on thirty-five shots is a good conversion rate for a player getting fourth-line minutes.
What is missing is everything that happens away from the rush. He does not win pucks, does not create on the cycle, and disappears in games where his line does not get transition chances.
The Physical Game
Six feet and 185, and light with it. Zero penalty minutes in thirty-seven games is a remarkable statistic and not a flattering one — it describes a player who never engages in anything.
The Intangibles
The fourteenth pick in 2021, moved once already, and now twenty-three with fifty-two NHL games. That is behind schedule for a first-rounder without being alarming for a European winger.
He needs a top-nine role for half a season to find out what he is. On this roster that opportunity exists in theory and has not arrived in practice.
