Fedor Svechkov
Colorado Avalanche Center
A first-round Russian centre in a fourth-line role, defensively sound and offensively invisible.

Last Season
Four goals and 17 points in 70 games, minus-six, on twelve minutes a night. Across 122 career games he has 34 points.
The Finesse Game
The offence has not arrived and may not. Seventy shots in seventy games is a low volume, and the four goals reflect a player who is not being asked to score and would struggle if he were.
What is genuinely good is the defensive detail. He reads the play, supports the puck, and takes faceoffs competently for a young centre — which is why he has held an NHL job at twenty-two despite producing nothing.
The Physical Game
Six feet and 187, and he is willing rather than imposing. He blocks shots and gets in lanes.
The Intangibles
The nineteenth pick in 2021 and drafted as a two-way centre rather than a scorer, so the profile is not a disappointment so much as a low ceiling arriving early.
At twenty-two there is time for offence to develop, and the honest read is that a fourth-line centre who kills penalties is the likeliest outcome. That is a career.
