Last Season
Three goals and four assists in 29 games — seven points, plus-one, at 12:28 a night with only eight penalty minutes. His first professional season in North America.
He turned 21 in February.
The Finesse Game
The shot chart is the best on the club. Sixty-six unblocked attempts with 59 per cent from inside twenty feet and a median of sixteen, and only eighteen per cent from beyond forty.
Three goals from that ice is a poor conversion and it is the ordinary shape of a twenty-one-year-old’s first season. The location is the part that is hard to teach and he already has it.
Four assists in 29 games says nothing either way.
The Physical Game
Six foot five and 203 pounds, and there is a great deal of room on the frame. Eight penalty minutes.
He goes to the interior, which for a young Russian winger is not a given, and he is not yet strong enough to stay there. Two summers of weight is the answer and he has had none.
The Intangibles
Fifty-nine point one per cent of the expected goals — the 99th percentile, the highest figure on the club by two and a half points — and 55.8 per cent of the shot attempts, 92nd, across 329 minutes, with the goals 16-7.
Three hundred and twenty-nine minutes is a very small sample and the caveat belongs in bold. It is still the best number a Utah skater posted.
Four points in his last ten, two of them goals. He is 21, the twelfth pick in 2023, and the most interesting page on this roster.

The eye and the numbers
The numbers think more of him than this report does — worth asking whether the role is flattering him, or whether the report is being harsh.
