Last Season

Seven goals and 10 assists in 66 games — 17 points, minus-eight, at 12:56 a night with 31 penalty minutes. His first professional season.

He turned 20 in January.

The Finesse Game

The skating is the tool and it is a very good one — he separates through the neutral zone and changes pace with the puck on his stick, which is rare at this age.

A hundred and thirty-two unblocked attempts, eight goals, median 22 feet with 47 per cent from inside twenty. That is a twenty-year-old already taking his shots from the right places; seven goals is what happens when he gets there without the strength to finish.

Ten assists in thirteen minutes a night is a fair rate.

The Physical Game

Five foot ten and 179 pounds, and it is the whole reservation. Thirty-one penalty minutes in 66 games is actually high for his size and says something about how he plays.

He is knocked off pucks by men, loses the wall, and cannot hold the front of a net. Two summers of weight is the standard answer and he has had one.

The Intangibles

Forty-nine point five per cent of the expected goals, 48th percentile, and 47.1 per cent of the shot attempts, 27th, across 789 minutes.

That is level chance share for a twenty-year-old on a club that was badly outchanced, and it is the number to hold on to.

Five points in his last ten. He is 20, the eighth pick in 2024, and Seattle has him arriving alongside Wright, Beniers, Evans and Winterton. The problem is not the young players.
