The goals went 56-57, essentially level, which on a club whose goaltending cost thirty-three is the expected outcome.
He is 24, a forty-fourth overall pick, and the fourth defenceman on the best defensive team in the league. Ottawa has Sanderson, Spence, Zub, Chabot and Kleven, and four of the five posted a top-quartile on-ice rate.
That is how a club finishes first in expected goals against, and it is why the goaltending is such a waste.
