2023-24
One goal and three points in 20 games on eight minutes a night, with 34 penalty minutes — a striking number for that little ice time, and entirely in character. He has not played an NHL game in the two seasons since.
The Finesse Game
Modest but not absent. He is a quick, busy forechecker with decent hands in a scramble, and he was a genuine producer in junior before the injuries. Twenty-one shots in twenty games is an aggressive rate for a fourth-liner.
The Physical Game
Five-ten and 184, and he plays far above it — he finishes checks on much larger players, gets into scrums, and takes penalties that come from effort rather than carelessness.
The knees are the story of his career. He has torn the same ligament multiple times, which has cost him years and is the reason a player with this motor has only eighty-two NHL games at twenty-seven.
The Intangibles
Everybody who has coached him says the same thing about his compete, and the record supports it — he has come back from injuries that ended other careers.
The projection cannot be separated from the medical history. When available he is a useful, irritating fourth-line forward. Availability has never been something he could offer.
