31-6-6 in 43 games with a .9104, a 2.49 average and 2 shutouts, facing 1,172 shots.
The club’s goaltending came in 14.0 goals better than the chances faced, 7th in the league, behind a defence that was 20th at suppressing them. Thirty-one wins in forty-three starts is the best winning percentage of any goaltender in this edition, and a share of that is a club that scored 277 goals.
The Physical Game
6-4 and 207 and he plays deep and large. He sets at the top of the crease, he is square almost without exception, and the frame takes the top of the net away without him having to move for it.
The rebound control is good and the glove is genuinely quick for the size. The lateral recovery is the cost of the style and it is a real one — a second chance from the far post is a long way for him.
The Mental Game
He was undrafted, played four years of junior and three of college hockey before anybody signed him, and did not play an NHL game until he was 24.
He is 28 and has a career .9116 across 146 games. He was Vegas’s starter and was traded for two third-round picks, which is what the market thought of a goaltender with those numbers. He then went 31-6-6.

Undrafted out of Brock University and Bemidji State, signed by Vegas in 2020, and 146 NHL games.
He is 28 and this is the first season anybody has treated him as an unambiguous number one. He signed a six-year extension in January.
