Eighteen points in 75 career games. Eight assists in 67 games is thin for a defenceman drafted on the strength of his offence, and the shot has not translated the way Montreal expected when they took him in the first round.

The Physical Game

Six foot three, 212, and he plays a heavy game — he finishes checks, defends his net front, and is difficult to get around. Forty-eight penalty minutes in sixteen minutes a night is a high rate.

The skating is adequate. The defensive reads are still a year or two behind.

The Intangibles

Fifty point three per cent of the expected goals, 56th percentile, and 48.9 per cent of the shot attempts, 44th, across 1,016 minutes, with the goals 39-38.

Level chance share across a thousand minutes in a first full season is a good result and the most encouraging thing on this page.
