Last Season
27-14-1 in 42 games with a .9087, a 2.73 average and 1 shutout, facing 1,216 shots. It is the first season of his career in which he has played more than thirty games.
The club’s goaltending finished 6th in the league at 15.2 goals better than the chances faced, most of it from the other man on the depth chart. A .9087 across 42 starts on a 108-point club is a solid rather than a good season.
The Physical Game
6-3 and 212 and the technique is athletic rather than blocking. He plays a conventional depth, he is square more often than not, and he relies on quickness in the crease rather than on covering the net.
The glove is genuinely very good and it is the first thing anybody notices. The lateral recovery is quick. The rebound control is the ordinary part and behind a club that was 15th at suppressing chances it was tested regularly. He handles the puck adequately.
The Mental Game
He has been injured in every season of his career — hip, ankle, high ankle, and a lower-body injury that ended his 2024 playoffs after one game — and has never been available for a full year.
He was very good in the 2025 playoffs until he was not, and he took the crease back in the second round after his partner was concussed. Forty-two games is the largest sample anybody has.
