The Physical Game

6-1 and thickly built, which is small by modern standards and means he plays a more aggressive, athletic style than the man ahead of him. He comes out to cut down angles and relies on quickness rather than size to cover the net.

The glove is the standout tool — quick and reliable, and shooters found out quickly that the top corner on that side was not available.

What is untested is the rest. 17 games against a mixed schedule tells you a goaltender can play; it does not tell you what happens across 60 starts, or when he loses 4 in a row.
