On-ice goals of 13-26 against an expected 13.27-13.89 — his line conceded almost exactly twice what the chances said it should have, across 400 minutes. That is a small sample and it is also a catastrophic one, and the goaltending behind him finished 28th in the league.
The Finesse Game
There is essentially none. 80 per cent of his shots came from beyond 40 feet at a median of 59, and 17 attempts in 35 games is close to a defenceman who does not shoot at all.
The first pass is safe and slow, and he will rim the puck rather than risk it. The skating is heavy and he is beaten wide by any winger with genuine speed, which is why the gap he plays is conservative to the point of handing over the blue line.

48 penalty minutes in 35 games at thirteen minutes a night is one of the highest rates in this edition, and on a club that spent more time shorthanded than almost anybody it is a real and measurable cost.
